Privacy

When you sign up, we keep the email address you give us and the date you gave it.

We use it for one thing: to tell you when the next chapter opens.

We do not sell it and we do not share it.

This site sets no cookies. Page views are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individual visitors. When a demo is on the page, the video loads from YouTube only when you press play.

When you question a character, the question you ask is sent to OpenAI, which generates the character’s reply. We do not store the question or the reply, and we do not log them.

OpenAI handles the question and the reply under its API terms: it does not use them to train its models, and it may keep them for up to thirty days to check for abuse, after which they are deleted.

We count how many questions each visitor asks in a day, only to limit what the replies cost us. The count is kept under an anonymous hash made from your network address and the date, nothing that names you, and it is deleted after that day, the next time anyone asks a question.

Your browser keeps your last exchange, the question and the reply, in its own storage, so the page can pick up where you left off, and it sends that exchange to OpenAI along with your next question so the character can remember it. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Your email address and the daily count are stored with Cloudflare, which also serves this site. Cloudflare and OpenAI are based in the United States.
